Just like a lot of people, I spend the last 18 months in a high stress situtation a work. My divisions were for sale, but I was well paid and promised a bonus, so I worked my way through it. When faced with adversity, I try to look forward to some sort of personal bonus that I will earn after successfully completing the difficult task that lay ahead. In this case, I thought of that old song and promised myself that I would ride to the Redwood Forest (I've already ridden to the Gulf Stream waters :-).
My family was particularly supportive as the months wore on. Especially my wife Lori, who I would love to see The RF with! As the sale got closer and my end date at work was finanlized I began to realize that she wouldn't be able to go with me, so I changed the destination. The timing was such that the 70th Annual Sturgis Bike week was near, so I thought Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The Badlands, Needles Highway... all within a days ride of Sturgis... Sounds Great, Let's Go!
